Major Achievments
One of our greatest achievements has been the education of the girls. It is worth noting that the girls study at some of the top schools in the country. In the year 2010, St. Monica’s had its first girl sitting her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. This is the national secondary school exam that forms the basis for admission into university. St. Monica’s takes exceptional pride at the fact that thanks to education, the girls will have an opportunity to shape their own future.
Yet another great achievement has been moving to a new home. Through the dedication of the home’s patrons and the incessant support of the friends of the home, St Monica’s relocated in April 2010 to a more secure, spacious and suitable home. The move was part of the continuing efforts to provide the best possible level of care and nurturing for the girls. Undoubtedly, this step is one in the right direction towards finding a permanent home for the girls.
Majority of the girl’s education is funded by an American Organization called Mothers Fighting for other’s which was founded by our Education Director Rocky Turner. However, additional support is always appreciated especially as we prepare to take those who finish their K.C.S.E through College and University.
